Experience
Proven experience 3+years as test development/software engineer
Understanding of software quality assurance principles and their application
Excellent knowledge of software, application design and structure
Ability to communicate technical knowledge in a clear and understandable manner
Experience in object-oriented programming (e.g. Python, Visual Basic, C)Test station development experience for optical components and/or modules

Education

InSiGa Technologies, a well-funded early stage dynamic startup, is looking for an Assembly Process Development Engineer to join our Research and Development team led by world renown experts in the field. Using optical engineering understanding, coupled with sound statistical design understanding, the successful candidate will develop creative test solutions to meet best in class device performance. This person’s responsibility may include:
1) Being part of the Research and Development team for optical components, contributing to the design effort with an understanding of design for manufacturability.
2) Responsible for assembly process development, equipment specification and integration, working closely with our contract manufacturing partner to develop cost effective solutions to meet customer requirements.
3) Responsible for all assembly steps development, SPC yield tracking methodology implementation
4) Works closely with the contract manufacturer to development and improvement assembly processes for yields and UPH.
5) Development of active optical alignment algorithms and method for complex optical systems
6) Development of tooling and test equipment to support optical alignment methods
7) Preparation of documentation, specifications and work instructions to be executed by the contract manufacturer
8) Support preparation of design reviews
9) Clearly communicating progress and status of ongoing development activities to senior management and critical customers.

Experience
5+ years of experience in Optical Assembly (optical modules, transceivers, camera module or equivalent assembly)
Familiar with statistical methods such as DOE and statistical analysis tools such as JMP or MiniTab
Experience in optical components/modules assembly processes, such as die attach, pick and place, wirebonding, passive optical alignment, hermetic sealing, laser welding, epoxy dispensing and curing methodologies
Active optical alignment development experience, algorithm definition and validation, software implementation.
Lean Six Sigma Experience
Education
Ph.D. in Physics, Optics, Electrical engineering or relevant field.
